RAF Cottesmore Freedom of Oakham Photographs

About 200 personnel from RAF Cottesmore marched through Oakham town centre on Thursday 3rd September to mark their Freedom of Entry to the town.

A special service was held at All Saints Church before the parade and afterwards personnel from the base marched along Northgate and Oakham High Street.
Flags were flying outside some of the town centre shops and businesses to show support for the troops.
The celebrations were attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Laurence Howard, the High Sheriff of Rutland, and Elizabeth Mills, Oakham Mayor Jan Fillingham, Leader of Rutland County Council Roger Begy and other members of Rutland County Council.

The RAF Cottesmore Force Commander Group Capt Ken McCann presented the parade for the review. Rutland RAFA was represented by our standard bearer Mr Francis Humphreys who was also on parade.
